Corbin Cabin Hike - January 2016

A week after a big East Coast snowstorm I returned to Shenandoah National Park to get in some hiking.  I am grateful that the Park Service makes efforts to clear the Central District of the Park, even if the Northern and Southern Districts (and the Blue Ridge Parkway) remain closed due to snow and ice.

I chose a relatively short loop from the Skyline Drive down to Corbin Cabin and back up to the A.T., using trails I had yet to check off my "hiked trails list."  The trails were the Corbin Cabin Cutoff Trail and the Nicholson Hollow Trail.

The snow was still deep in spots. and I wasn't the only one making tracks, as you can see below.
