I always find the top a little disappointing as it is generally tree covered along the trail. There is also a great eastward facing overlook about 75% of the way up the trail. I have eaten several lunches there over the years.Jeff Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06623587270951440914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3028206738007742119.post-67833473906127371252013-02-22T01:29:11.543-05:002013-02-22T01:29:11.543-05:00Just found your blog, really enjoying it so far. While it's no Old Rag, there is quite a nice view facing west off the trail, maybe .2 mile S after the true summit, and before you get to the shelter turnoff. There's no official trail going out to it, but you can usually see a path, and there is a nice fire circle. There are some nice big rocks, and some trees right at the edge to set up a hammock. Quite a nice spot! Maybe you already know about this view and didn't think it "spectacular," but I thought it deserved a mention.

http://virginiatrails.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/priest-summit_2.jpgAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01079607144512696221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3028206738007742119.post-85481113486463906712011-05-18T01:08:02.751-04:002011-05-18T01:08:02.751-04:00We sure have had some nice hikes.
